It was last week when I’m attending Quantum Physics’ class (where the lecturer was mostly talking about life rather than the lesson itself… which is interesting, I never get sleepy in that class :P ) somehow we came into a subject of “genetic engineering”, and talking how mostly any biological subject can be genetically altered, from sheep to watermelons. Even human.
Nowadays, you can have a child without having sex. Yes, there is adoption, but surely you want a child of your own blood, right? This is where the technology came in: in vitro fertilization. To put it simple, it’s putting your sperm (for men) in your partner’s ovum (for women) in the lab, and having someone else’s uterus for pregnancy and finally giving birth to it. The great (or not?) thing is, it doesn’t have to be your partner’s sperm, you could even fertilize it with some geniuses’ DNA to make a quality offspring. There’re even sperm banks, where you can buy a sperm of your choice of traits (e.g. genius, good-looking, etc.)
Anyway, that’s just an opening talk. Here’s the real story idea.
In the near future, where humans of “perfect traits” could be produced through genetic engineering, these “superior humans” mostly rule the world. Of course, most of them was from the developed nations, and rich people which were willing to create superior offspring for their family. Meanwhile, the people from the third world countries was mostly still “normal human”, and being left behind. One day, this league of superior-but-lack-of-moral humans decided to make this world a better place by banishing the “non-superior” humans. They thought it was fine to exterminating thousands of them, since they could create thousands more, even with a far better quality. Of course, the “normal humans” was totally against this. They pissed with those “playing God” humans and decided to take a stand against theme. Thus, the war between “genius and justice” began.
The story morale is that you can’t just be genius and do all what you can. Since you’re a human, you also need to have human’s sense of justice, what’s good and bad. And to win, sometimes being genius alone isn’t enough.
…That’s it. It’s kinda lame, I know, but somehow I want to write it down in case someday it’ll make a good story. And now, is there any one of you want to write the story? :P
